The objectives of the BIGF

Bangladesh Internet Governance Forum (BIGF)
Established in 2006, the Bangladesh Internet Governance Forum (BIGF) In conjunction with United Nations Internet Governance Forum serves as a collaborative platform dedicated to addressing a wide array of internet governance issues within Bangladesh. Operating under a multistakeholder model, BIGF brings together diverse stakeholders—including government officials, civil society representatives, academia, the private sector, and international organizations—to foster dialogue, share insights, and promote best practices in internet governance.
Our Mission
At BIGF, our mission is to facilitate discussions around the evolving landscape of internet governance in Bangladesh. We believe that a multistakeholder approach is crucial for creating an inclusive digital environment. Our objective is to encourage active participation from all sectors of society in shaping policies and making informed decisions regarding the internet and digital technologies. By harnessing the collective expertise and perspectives of various stakeholders, we strive to ensure that the internet remains a free, open, and accessible resource for all.

Our Vision
We envision a Bangladesh where internet governance policies are developed through a transparent, inclusive, and participatory process, ensuring that the digital rights of all citizens are upheld. Our long-term goal is to create a framework that supports sustainable growth in the digital economy while addressing critical issues such as cybersecurity, data privacy, digital literacy, and equitable access to the internet.
Core Activities
BIGF organizes annual forums, workshops, and seminars to discuss pressing internet governance challenges and opportunities. These events provide a platform for various stakeholders to share their insights, experiences, and best practices while facilitating collaborative problem-solving.
Annual Forum
Our flagship event gathers leaders and representatives from government, civil society, academia, and the private sector to engage in comprehensive discussions on internet governance themes. The forum serves as a space for stakeholders to exchange ideas, explore new initiatives, and outline policy recommendations.

BIGF conducts various workshops to build capacity and enhance understanding of internet governance principles.
